The Legislative Committee is a statutory committee, required by the Church of England Assembly Act 1919 and the Constitution of the General Synod. It acts in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the 1919 Act in submitting Measures to Parliament for approval once they have received final approval by the General Synod.
